Welcome to Vivekananda Shooting Academy

VSCA Shooting Academy, an Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting training Centre with an initiative of National Rifle Shooter Anil T.M and Naional medalist Pistol shooter Mr . Vikas Dagra, is a state-of-the-art shooting facility and training center in the Kalpataru Nadu district headquarter of Karnataka – Tumkur.

Shooting is an Olympic event and requires a multi-pronged approach to groom shooting athletes to “Podium Finish”. To cater to this need and to promote shooting sport, “VSCA” provides world class infrastructure including a 10 meter air conditioned indoor shooting range with electronic target system, best and imported shooting air weapons, professional mentoring, the right mix of physical training and mental strength, diet and everything that goes in making an athlete a champion!

Mr. Anil T.M

Founder of VSCA Team , Mentor and Chief Coach

Mr. Anil T M is a passionate and dedicated rifle coach with over 5 years of professional coaching experience. A certified coach from the Sports Authority of India (NIS), he has actively contributed to the growth of shooting sports in Karnataka. As a former national-level shooter, he has represented in the 10m Air Rifle and 50m Prone Position events. His shooting journey began with remarkable achievements, including a Gold Medal at the prestigious Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) in 2004 and a Silver Medal at the All India G.V. Mavalankar Shooting Championship in 2005 while serving in the NCC.

Driven by a strong commitment to nurturing young talent, he founded the VSCA Team and has successfully trained over 350 shooters from Tumkur and surrounding regions. Under his guidance, many of his students have advanced in their shooting careers and continue to pursue excellence in the sport.

Contribution for shooting sports fraternity in Karnataka

Over the years, I have provided free accommodation to Karnataka shooters during Pre-National and National events. Every year, I offer free coaching and range facilities to 10 dedicated shooters. After years of persistent efforts and protests, shooting was finally included in the Karnataka State syllabus. In the past two years alone, around 324 students from Karnataka have participated in the National School Games organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). Due to continuous hard work over the last four years, the Karnataka Government has sanctioned ₹3 crores in the state budget to build shooting ranges in four district stadiums during this academic year. I have proudly trained and produced several top shooters in Karnataka who have won medals at the Pre-National, SGFI, and National levels.

Meet Our Expert International Coach

Mr. Vikas Dagar is a highly accomplished pistol coach with over 9 years of coaching experience and a deep-rooted background in competitive shooting. He is an NSNIS Diploma holder in Shooting Sports and has also completed the prestigious 6-week NSNIS certification with an 'A' grade. A graduate in Commerce from Delhi University, Mr. Dagar has excelled both academically and athletically.

As a shooter, he has represented in eight National-level competitions and earned numerous accolades, including Gold Medals at the All India Inter University Championships and Pre-Nationals. He has consistently performed at the State level and has competed in National and International trials across multiple pistol events including 10m Air Pistol, 50m Free Pistol, 25m Rapid Fire, 25m Centre Fire, and 25m Standard Pistol.

His coaching career is marked by excellence and dedication. He has mentored over a dozen medal-winning shooters, with one of his standout students, Kapil, currently holding the No. 1 ranking and having qualified for both the Asian Games and the Junior World Cup. Under his guidance, shooters have secured 6 National and 9 Pre-National medals, making him a significant contributor to the future of Indian pistol shooting.
